Facing East

So, my parents are involved with a fairly new theater company in St. George called the Space Between. They put on really different plays than what southern Utah is used to, I think. It's refreshing to have some options finally. Unlike the usual feel good family musicals that St. George is used to attending the Space Between puts on plays that have heavy subjects. My dad has co-produced the one that is currently playing called Facing East. It is about homosexuals and the LDS church. It could be pretty controversial for some one who does not have an open mind. I saw it last night, and I loved it! I was trying my very best the whole time not to cry. But as I looked around at the audience all the gay people were just sobbing. I knew that they must have really identified with the play. It made me more compassionate to the burdens they must bare, and also reminded me of one of the greatest principals of the gospel... Love one another. Hopefully with it's message Facing East can remind us of that.
